NEW YORK –  A Missouri man posing as "Secret Santa" is giving away $100,000 this holiday season and spent a day in New Jersey and New York giving money to people robbed of their belongings or homes by Superstorm Sandy. But the Kansas City businessman says money is not the issue. It's about random acts of kindness. Secret Santa started his East Coast visit Thursday in Elizabeth, N.J. In Staten Island, the anonymous benefactor walked up to surprised residents and thrust $100 bills into their hands. He said he is setting an example and hopes others will follow. Keeping close watch over the cash handouts was his security entourage -- police officers in uniform from New York and New Jersey, plus FBI agents.

Could Romney Repeal The Health Law? It Wouldn't Be Easy | Synopsis

Could Romney Repeal The Health Law? It Wouldn't Be Easy

"On Day 1 of my administration, I'll direct the secretary of Health and Human Services to grant a waiver from Obamacare to all 50 states. And then I'll go about getting it repealed," he told Newsmax TV in September 2011. But there are two big questions there. First of all, could a President Romney actually stop the health law in its tracks? And if he did try, what would happen? First, it turns out that stopping the law may be harder than the law's opponents realize. For one thing, if he's elected, Romney can't just grant waivers letting states ignore the law on his first day as president. "There are waivers under the law, but not an across-the-board waiver," said Tom Miller, a lawyer with the conservative American Enterprise Institute. For the record, Miller is an avid opponent of the health law.

Key:

  • Aggregate Sentiment is meant to be an indicator of an individual's overall sentiment.
  • The Mean is meant to be an indicator of an individual's average comment sentiment.
  • The Standard Deviation, when there are enough quotes, will indicate an individual's consistency of sentiment (i.e. a Standard Deviation of 0 would mean they were very consistent in their sentiment and 1 would mean they were very inconsistent).

Note that quote stats are likely to be meaningless beyond the aggregate score due to the tiny sample size. However, they are always provided just in case you find something useful there.
