House Speaker John Boehner today pressured President Obama to come forth with an updated White House offer that could pass both chambers of Congress, with negotiations over a deal to avert the fiscal cliff at a standstill after the White House rejected the GOP’s latest counterproposal earlier this week. “If the president doesn’t agree with our proposal and our outline, I think he’s got an obligation to send one to the Congress,” Boehner, R-Ohio, said this morning after the House Republican conference meeting. “We’re ready and eager to talk to the president and to work with him to make sure that the American people aren’t disadvantaged by what’s happening here in Washington. ” Boehner called the Republican proposal earlier this week “a good faith offer,” complete with significant spending cuts and new tax revenue.

Key:

  • Aggregate Sentiment is meant to be an indicator of an individual's overall sentiment.
  • The Mean is meant to be an indicator of an individual's average comment sentiment.
  • The Standard Deviation, when there are enough quotes, will indicate an individual's consistency of sentiment (i.e. a Standard Deviation of 0 would mean they were very consistent in their sentiment and 1 would mean they were very inconsistent).

Note that quote stats are likely to be meaningless beyond the aggregate score due to the tiny sample size. However, they are always provided just in case you find something useful there.
